After My Husband Died, I Took a Cruise on the Ship He Once Captained — Then an Officer Knocked on My Door With Five Words That Left Me Stunned

I had visited the café. I had met Elena. I had followed the clues Martin had left for me. But the last part of his promise seemed impossible.

Warm amber lights illuminated the room. A pianist and a small band were playing a slow melody, while couples moved gently across the dance floor.

I stopped at the entrance, suddenly overwhelmed.

Thomas noticed me and approached.

“That’s a beautiful dress,” he said.
