“Sir, with that sleeping child and those damaged flowers,

“Can my bunny get milk?”

Lupita smiled. “Your bunny gets VIP treatment tonight.”

For the first time since entering the hotel, Lily smiled.

Tiny.

Sleepy.

Real.

Ethan looked back at Robert.

“What protocol allows your staff to mock a guest because of his jacket?”

Robert opened his mouth.

“What protocol lets an employee deny a valid booking without checking properly?”

Robert closed it.

“What protocol says housekeeping employees do not deserve respect?”

No one answered.

The piano player had stopped.

Even the guests near the bar were listening now.

Robert recovered enough to say, “Mr. Vance, I’ll handle this internally.”

“You already had the chance to handle it internally.”

Robert’s face tightened.

Ethan turned to Lupita.

“How long have you worked here?”

“Twelve years.”

“How many times have you reported behavior like this?”

Lupita glanced at Robert.

That glance told Ethan more than a spreadsheet.

“Several,” she said.
